It could be argued that the heart of Panorama Hills is the Panorama Hills e-Community Centre. Located on Panamount Hill, the centre consists of a 6-acre private park that is for exclusive use of Panorama Hills residents. In the summer you can take your family here to have a picnic in the picnic area, to play in the water park, or to play on the beach volleyball or basketball courts, while in the winter there is a toboggan run and a skating rink.
If you live closer to the north end of the community and the Panorama Hills e-Community Centre is a bit far from you but you would still like to take your kids out for some fun and exercise, then you should head to Panora Square. Panora Square is a small park on Panatella Blvd that is complete with a playground, a gazebo, and a couple of basketball courts. Just off Hidden Creek Way you will also find an entrance to West Nose Creek Park, a fantastic natural environment park where you can go to stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
Near the north end of the community is also where you can find a shopping plaza known as Gates of Panorama Hills. Though the plaza is home to a wide variety of stores and services where you can run all of your errands and go to all your appointments, the sure highlight of the area is the great dining opportunities that can be found here. No need to head all the way to Calgary’s downtown for a nice night out!
If you’re a fan of the English pub atmosphere and delicious wings and steak, then you should consider paying a visit to the Tudor Rose. Sushi lovers will find exactly what they are looking for at Ajisai, while fans of Taiwanese tea and cuisine should look no further than Ten Ren’s Tea Time. Don’t forget to also check out Pizza Cottage, Nha Trang Vietnamese Restaurant, and Tamarind Indian Restaurant.
Harvest Hills Blvd, which borders Panorama Hills to the west, is another prime location for shopping and amenities. Not only is this where you can find the Real Canadian Superstore, but right next door is also the Country Village branch of GoodLife Fitness. With flexible hours and an accessible location, you’ll have no excuse to skip out on going to the gym!
On the other side of Country Village Road is Cardel Place, another great location where you can go to increase your entire family’s overall health and fitness level. Operated by the Nose Creek Sports and Recreation Association, Cardel Place has numerous fitness facilities such as pools, climbing walls, ice rinks, a fitness centre and more. Once you and your family are all finished working out and getting healthy, you can hop over to the nearby Landmark Cinemas 16 to relax and catch the latest movie.
Though still a relatively young community within Calgary, Panorama Hills has all of the amenities and recreational opportunities of an older and more established neighborhood. It has already become a great place to live in and raise a family, as evidenced by the high rates of home ownership among its roughly 23,000 residents. Whether you call Panorama Hills home or you are just looking to visit the area, you won’t be disappointed by everything that this community has to offer.
